It may be a year or so old, but I really recommend watching Dr. Horrible's Sing-along Blog. It's awesome! Even more so if you are a fan of Barney Stinson / Neil Patrick Harris.
Also includes other geek fan favourites, such as Felicia Day and Nathan Fillion and 'that one guy' from BBT.

seems nice 4 episodes in now.
Mystery killer kills of grp of ppl visiting a wedding on an island 1 by 1. quite fun and interesting so far.
Fringe
J.J. Abrahams worked on this wannabe X-files covered with a science sauce.
pretty decent as long as u dont get stuck up on logic and stuff like that.

Awesome comedy bout a bunch of never-beens working for catering service lead by a nicely weird and ackward boss, the
office-style (US)
Dollhouse - only starts becoming interesting from ep. 7on (but dont think it will see a 2nd season) but seems promising now at 10. Joss whedons new series, nikita-like story with typical whedon sense of humor. only mentioned it cuz if ppl can stand BBT for penny and TS:SCC for summer glau then Eliza Dushku might get them riled up for this one as well

Anime is just another medium like Comics. You read Y The Last Man as well so you should know that the medium has nothing to do with the content.

T:SCC is nice, i watched all of it, good action, tho it got a bit offtrack in S2. plus it suffers from the same illness heroes has in the chearleader, the same old soap-opera discussions and conflicts over and over again

Oh forgot to mention that Dr. Horrible is also one of Joss Whedon's concoctions. It's kinda like the Buffy episode 'Once more with feeling' (only better), if you've seen that.
First season of BBT was good for the most part. Starting to lose interest in it now though.
