I did all the quests in vashj'ir and at the end of that i was like 3/4 level behind people who started at the same time as me. I skilled up mining and stopped to melt over 400 bars and skill up engineering to 485. I did 3 instances + half of blackrock caverns. I forgot to return instance quests for over 400k xp that i still had when i hit lvl 85.
So I'm pretty sure I got there first because I'm a totally awesome leveling machine who just beat everyone by being the best warlock ever, of all time.
