So, we were chatting a bit in our little rogue channel about this and that, and the conversation turned to books. I've got a couple myself, so i thought i'd share some recommendations for Hab, and put in what i'm reading atm.

By my bed:

Recommended for Habit:

Anything by Neal Stephenson - Snow Crash and Quicksilver series especially
Richard Morgan - Altered Carbon
Peter Hamilton - Nights Dawn Trilogy
Iain M Banks - Against a Dark Background, Use of Weapons - as i said in /g earlier, i'd stop right about there tbh, as imo he's really dropped off of late
Anything by Jasper Fforde
Alastair Reynolds - Revelation Space and 2 followups
Anything by Michael Marshall Smith/Michael Marshall

A few things to look at anyway - chuck me a pm if you want things sent for loan - quite happy to do that so long as they come back :)

Books are like, the internet, for people with attention spans.
Imagine an average wow warrior OMGZZ CRITZZ movie. You've seen them around. In book form they would be more like....

"It was a dandy morning in the Warsong Gulch. I could smell the stench of those filthy orcses. I was there for some slaying! I had poked every damn mage and conjurer I ever saw, and had receiving some really nice beneficial blessing, and I had also prepared with my bestest gear. This gear was forged in the blackest forges of blackness by some really dark sinister people, then it had been blessed by some neat wizards to give me more STRENGHT! in combat!
The stream of those filthy hordes where never ending. As soon as one was slain, 3 more would come and really show you where the axe belongs! But I was brave, and had a mighty priest at my side, providing me with the courage to keep on fighting.
Then, all of a sudden, out of no where, comes this shaman! I took my mighty hammer, that I had picked up from the remains of the great Ragnaros himself, and drove it into the ugly cow man! I hit him hard, he stumbled about, but then, suddenly he started to fight back, as if my blow had done nothing! He had reinforcements! There was a priest, a mage, and the aforementioned shaman! As I lept towards them all, I hit them all really fast, really hard, and the mage dove into the ground! (Note: this is the first crit of the movie)"

Ofc, I can now imagine the tauren shaman in a pretty lavender shirt, with some red painted hooves, but, it's so much more fun watching the video of it :<

I am amazed by this technical revolution.
Books are so cool. You open them and bang, text!
And you dont even have to logon to read them!

ive also heard of this new amazing thing, called a "pen." you hold it against a piece of paper (paper is whats you have in your printer) and you can then write DIRECTLY onto the piece of paper!!11ZOMG!"#WTFLOL!!
