Tips for new players
Drake rental
You start with 15 shrooms. After confirming your email you gain 10, for a total of 25. The best investment with these is the Dragon mount rental from the Stables. This will half all your quest time, meaning you can do twice as many for 14 days! This is a huge bonus to start out with, and is strongly recommended.

Shroom drops
The droprate of shrooms from quests is 8% when not mounted, and 5% when mounted. Since this droprate is per quest, it's likely ideal to do short quests as much as possible unless there's a specific reason to do a long quest.

Dungeons
You can get the first dungeon key from a quest from lvl10 on, 2nd key at lvl20. You can only clear dungeons once. When you kill a mob in a dungeon, you get gold/XP OR and item. If you get an item, there's a chance for it to be epic. The item you get depends on your level, if you are level 20 when you beat a lvl25 monster, you get a lvl20 item IF you get one. Since you can only defeat each one once, it's likely ideal to wait to be the same level as the monster.

XP quests > gold
Since the mob level in dungeons rise up pretty steep, and since XP is often the best investment anyways (higher lvl means more gold from guard duty for example), I strongly believe doing quests that provide XP over gold are the best choice.

Hello there,

This thread is about choosing the right mount based on your needs.

If you play with mushroom and really want to compete, dragon mount and beer would be your friends, so no question asked.

However, if you are a casual player who doesn't want to buy mushroom, my advice would be following:

1) when you first started, always buy a mount that you can afford with 10 hours of city guard income. ( avoid being farmed for gold)

2) when you are rich enough for tiger/raptor, don't hesitate and grab them as fast as possible.

3) don't ever buy dragon mount if you are not planning to buy mushroom! The reasoning goes like this:

dragon mount: 50% adventure thirst (-50% travel time as advertised)
Tiger/Raptor mount: 70% adventure thirst (-30% travel time as advertised)

Since we all have 100 adventure thirst before spending mushrooms

effective adventure thirst (each quest takes original time )
dragon mount: 100/0.5 =200
tiger/raptor :100/0.7=142.86

However, dragon mount costs almost 2 times more mushrooms per day than tiger/raptor mounts (25 per 2 weeks vs 1 per 2 weeks. Let's forget about the gold since there is almost no difference). If tiger and raptor riders spend 2 mushrooms a day in bar (40 more thirst), they will have 140 thirst and the effective adventure thirst becomes

effective adventure thirst (each quest takes original time, each player spend 2 mushrooms a day )

dragon mount: 100/0.5=200
tiger/raptor: 140/0.7= 200

If both players spend 2 mushrooms per day, dragon mount will produce the same number of effective adventure thirst as tiger/raptor mounts. However, with dragon mounts, the chance to find mushrooms is reduced further than tiger/raptor mounts. For none mushroom buyers, using tiger/raptor mounts and spending 2 mushrooms in the bar per day is better than using dragon mount.

Conclusion: dragon mounts are for cash payers. If you don't buy mushroom, just stay with tiger/raptor and spend 2 mushrooms a day as long as you have enough mushroom for the next mount lease. don't spend more than 2 mushrooms in the bar a day since the third mushroom will benefit dragon riders more than tiger/raptor riders.
