I got the following mail this morning :

Greetings,

An investigation of your World of Warcraft account has found strong evidence that the account in question is being sold or traded. As you may not be aware of, this conflicts with Blizzard's EULA under section 4 Paragraph B which can be found here: WoW -> Legal -> Terms of Use

The investigation will be continued by Blizzard administration to determine the action to be taken against your account. If your account is found violating the EULA and Terms of Use, your account can, and will be suspended/closed/or terminated.
In order to keep this from occurring, you should immediately verify that you are the original owner of the account.

To verify your identity please visit the following webpage:
https://www.worldofwarcraft.com/login/l .... index.html
Only Account and Billing Management will be able to assist with account retrieval issues. Thank you for your time and attention to this matter, and your continued interest in World of Warcraft.

Sincerely,

Account and Billing Management
Blizzard Entertainment

Seeing the link to follow pointed to something completely else I was able to verify that this was once again a fake.

I copied / paste the mail in it's original. The link behind it was something with hostopia or something.. can't remember exactly but at least some free hosting service. Also notice that that link which is shown in the mail is said to be "https://www.worldofwarcraft.com/login/login?service=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.worldofwarcraft.com%2Faccount%2Findex.html" which would be twice a domain in a URL which is slightly suspicious aswell ;)

I just checked out EULA section 4 paragraph B which actually confused me:

B. You may permanently transfer all of your rights and obligations under the License Agreement to another only by physically transferring the original media (e.g., the CD-ROM or DVD you purchased), all original packaging, and all Manuals or other documentation distributed with the Game; provided, however, that you permanently delete all copies and installations of the Game in your possession or control, and that the recipient agrees to the terms of this License Agreement. The transferor (i.e., you), and not Blizzard, agrees to be solely responsible for any taxes, fees, charges, duties, withholdings, assessments, and the like, together with any interest, penalties, and additions imposed in connection with such transfer.
You can't sell it but you can give it away?

You can sell it, it says there in the last sentence. It's just Blizzard telling you that they couldn't care less if the new buyer doesn't pay you so don't contact them if they don't. Or something. <_<

And with people posting their EMail address on publicly accessible WoW-related website we all still wonder how those people select their targets?

My guess is this isn't the last one of those EMails you've gotten Merlijn.......... Get used to it :p
