Blizzard Downloader problems

I have been having some problems with the blizzard dowloader for the next content patch. I have 1.51 GB out of 1.57 GB downloaded and am stuck. the reason why is a an error message stating: '"There are multiple problems saving data" or some such. So I go to the help thingy for the downloader. Find several solutions for correcting whatever brought on the error message ( these including defragging harddrives, checking for file corruption and sweeping for viruses ) and so far nothing has solved it.

The last 60 Mb is really starting to irritate me so I turn to the royal you, who know more about these things then I do. Any suggestions? ( bear in mind this is not my field of expertise so give me the 'for dummies 'explanation when possible)

Alternatively delete the patch and let the downloader download it again.

I had the same problem with the last 70 MB. I just left it running and eventually the error disappeared and the data started rolling in >_>

I noticed I'd disabled the launcher as well as background downloading, you might have the same.

If so, run WoW, tick "show launcher" in the bottom left corner of the login screen, then run launcher.exe, go to options, and enable the background dowloading stuff.

Try manually opening the BackgroundDownload.torrent file in your \World of Warcraft\Cache folder with your favourite torrent client (if you lack any, download http://www.utorrent.com/) .

Make sure you save the files to \World of Warcraft\Updates\ or you'll have to start from scratch.

edit: btw, could this be a "feature" in the blizz client aimed to keep the number of seeders high?

To achieve that they just needed a seed with 99% completion so noone could finish the download, Blizzard Downloader or external BT program included.

Managed to get this finished today, had a look around the Blizz Tech pages and finally found the page i neeed (http://eu.blizzard.com/support/article. .... oryId=3720)

Basically did a thorough CHKDSK on my C Drive, some of the areas were corrupted and were simply corrected (Took about an hour and a half to scan and correct) and the download finished within 30 seconds. :3

perhaps the issue is that you all need to buy yourself an apple macintosh!

I forget to use the launcher, this thread prompted me to use it to start wow yesterday, when I next checked, all done!

Yes as posted above, use the manual torrent, then when it's done the patcher should be fine.

Mines currently on 45% with a 6 hour wait limit, hope nothing fucks up..

I never used the launcher so didn't know any better

If anyone is still experiencing the stuck at 95% problem with the blizz downloader, here is a solution that worked for me: http://forums.wow-europe.com/thread.htm .... 9359&sid=1

If that is too complicated I have an ftp up with the last bit up that alot of people are unable to download. I have about 100 kb/s upload and it is only 70 MB so it should go reasonably fast. Let me know if anyone wants to use it.
