Finally \o/

We’re currently planning to end the third Arena season and begin Arena Season 4 on June 24, 2008. This exciting Arena season will introduce the Brutal Gladiator set, and will also allow players to purchase Arena Season 2 items using the honor system. Please note that we will be resetting all Arena team and personal ratings. Players will still retain their Arena points and teams with this reset. The team and personal rating will simply be reset to the default 1500, allowing all teams to once again compete for top honors with a fresh start.

Also, with the end of the third season, players on the top teams from each battlegroup will receive their end-of-season rewards. These include Arena-specific titles that they can display proudly until the end of the new season, and, for the best of the best, an Armored Nether Drake. Please also be aware that with the end of the current season, all previous end-of-season titles will be removed.

On the ptr they had rating requirement and theres been no news that it's been dropped...so guess it's a wait and see thing

Knowing Blizzard, it's highly unlikely that they will drop the Personal Rating requirement that we're seeing in the PTR servers. So these axes will be unavailable to those that are not extremely skilled at Arena.

While I understand that Blizzard is trying to get people to completely stop playing Arenas unless they're elite PVPers, this move does effectively put Hunters back in the role of being screwed over again -- the only class that does not pick up a relatively cheap "off-hand" item for no PR requirement. Relatively cheap, yes. No PR required, no. According to the Blue post on the PVP forum, the offhand and gloves were supposed to be available with no PR requirement. I guess Hunters are back to being left out from that sort of thing again.

Not a big deal since the net stat value is completely unimpressive compared to the Season 3 axe. Overall, it's a downgrade from almost any angle you look at it from. Definitely not worth it. Was thinking about picking them up for raiding -- at least they'd be useful as a double MP5 item -- but not worth bothering getting my rating up for them. Junk.

Even if the rating is gone, that weapon costs like what, 1k-1.5k AP? You'll have that in 2-3 weeks.
