Fun LAN games

Anyone know any fun LAN games?

I'm thinking of games in this category:

- Bomberman
- Mario Kart
- Re-Volt

Something shooter/racing, but if it's racing, it shouldn't be just do-laps (no Need for Speed clones).

Re-volt used to be awesome, almost perfect, but it's somewhat dated, and didn't have the best multiplayer connectivity.

They don't have to be free, but released would be nice

No, RTS is too complex for the intended audience, needs to be arcade.

Trackmania nations is fun, but it's 100% racing, no combat or anything involved, means it's no good :<

And I was just about to suggest Magic and Mayhem! RTSes are the bestesteses!

And not just 'cos I worked on it, it's super awesome 4 player anyway.

Try Wipe Out. My favourite game designer guy worked at it. I am surprised it wasn't mentioned one post above yours. *cough*
Jokes aside, it's been a while I play it, but IIRC it's a racing game where you shoot your opponents.

Desert combat is very good fun on LAN. Spin-off from BF1942 but done much nicer

Problem with Worms is that it doesn't scale, the more people that play, the less fun it is, since you spend alot of time doing nothing.

Man, operation flashpoint was awesome fun aswell on LAN. Too long-winded and old for your slick bum-boy mates coming round for a marathon wank-session though joy
