Easy staff to get in 1.11.

Just inside the Strathome dead-side entrance (actually under the gate on the left in the live side) is a new boss mob named Balzaphon that was introduced with 1.11. This boss is easy to pull solo to the gate (without killing anything else nearby) and drops at least 2 common items of interest to warlocks.

The first is a neck item that grants +20-something to damage and healing but has no other stats.

The second is a staff called the Staff of Balzaphon that is:

160-241 dmg spd 3.90 (51.4dps)
+8 Stamina
+10 Intellect
+7 Spirit
+29 dmg/healing
+1% critical hit chance

We killed him 5 times quickly and got the staff twice and the neck item three times. Given how easy this is to obtain, I expect the instance to be changed so you might want to go farm one quickly if you're interested.

Sounds like a nice place to grind for shards :lol:

Equip: Increases damage done by Frost spells and effects by up to 20.

Drops that aswell. Sounds nice to do if your after quickly gearing up an alt.

Instructions:

Enter Strat dead-side, open the first portcullis and kill the first group of skells after the Magistrate yells for the Baron and runs away. Immediately hed left (west) to the gate between live and dead side. There's a small courtyard there that didn't use to have very much in it. Now there is a named elite boss named Balzaphon who looks like Araj. Balz makes a circuit around the little fountain - when he gets to the middle you can safely pull him (have somebody pull and duck around the corner to have him come into the gate area) and kill him.

So one grp of mobs then him. Not too bad. Would like to try that sometime for sure.

the boss himself is soloable by a warlock ;P

Soloable by druid as well (Vipers did it after we farmed it yesterday).
